Five villages - five atmospheres! You like the beach, or prefer history, or want to head for the mountains ... or a mixture of all of that? Of course yes  ! Here is our list of the prettiest villages in the region, and there is something to see for everyone!

Cap Ferret

1 hour from Bordeaux, guaranteed escape by the Atlantic Ocean. Oyster farms, pines, dunes and cottages at the water's edge. SAINT-EMILION

The appellation known throughout the world for its wines, it is also a UNESCO-listed village, which has saved all of its charm during centuries. There is no better place to contemplate the vineyard but also the beautiful architecture, and its iconic undergrounds! LA ROQUE-GAGEAC

Very close to Sarlat (which is also a quite magnificent village), discover one of the most beautiful places in France! On the banks of the Dordogne, houses with brown roofs, charms of the past and breathtaking landscapes. History lovers, do not miss prehistoric caves, discover the Valley of Man!

Direction to the French Basque Country! And the houses change color ... white walls, red shutters but on top of that, the famous Espelette pepper which makes the name but also the image of this village.

SAINT-JEAN-PIED-DE-PORT

And it is also a major stage of the famous  the road to Santiago de Compostela!
